It grows in the valley of the river Or among the tugai vegetation. It is endemic to the Ili basin. It is listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan. It is found in Kazakhstan, in the floodplain of the Ili River, as well as in adjacent areas of China. A spreading shrub reaching a height of more than 4 m, in more severe growing conditions – about 1.5 m. It is decorative with narrow foliage, bluish-green in May -June and bluish-green in the future, as well as small, almost round blue coplodia. The flowers are rather nondescript. Blooms from May to June, edible fruits ripen in August. A valuable berry shrub, rare both in nature and in culture. Features of reproduction. Cuttings are carried out at the end of May – June, depending on the region. It is better to tear off the cuttings “with the heel” and treat them with a root formation stimulator before rooting. They are rooted in boxes under a film with regular spraying.
